Location: Remote, travel required within 1 hour of Leicester to deliver teaching sessions

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Requirements:

Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, CAVA/A1 Assessing qualification, Valid UK driving licence

What will you do?

As a business courses tutor you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to our learners who are enrolled onto our Business Courses apprenticeship standards which include Business Administrator Level 3, Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 and Customer Service Specialist Level 3 and ideally Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3 and Operations/Departmental Manager Level 5. The course areas you deliver will be subject to your occupational experience and/or qualifications. You will work closely with both learners and employers, using your teaching ability, coaching skills and innovative technologies to deliver exceptional training, helping learners and employers achieve their objectives. Your role is imperative in facilitating the creation and delivery of an outstanding programme to ensure our learners gain maximum value from their apprenticeship and are stretched and challenged to achieve above their expected level.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Your role as a Business Courses Tutor requires you to:

  • Deliver high quality teaching to meet the requirements of the course curriculum.
  • Devise individual learning plans (ILP) to aid differentiation based on individual needs.
  • Support learners to develop key behavioural skills.
  • Use schemes of work (SOW) to create lesson plans.
  • Prepare learners for on-programme assessments and end point assessments (EPA).
  • Embed English and maths in main delivery.
  • Monitor learner’s attendance and engagement.
  • Monitor learner’s progress and development.
  • Ensure learners complete their programme of study within the time scales set.
  • Work toward and maintain grade 1 in observation of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and develop client relationships to ensure the best possible learner achievement.
  • Maintain the validity of all required professional qualifications.

Who are you?

  • Mandatory: Minimum GCSE English and maths grade C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths
  • Mandatory: CAVA/A1 assessing qualification
  • Mandatory: Minimum of 2 years’ occupational competency in an administrative, operational, customer service/relations or managerial position
  • Mandatory: Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check
  • Mandatory: Evidence of CPD
  • Desired: Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering apprenticeships (frameworks and/or standards) and Functional Skills
  • Desired: Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching a level 5 management course
  • Desired: Educated to degree level at 2:1 minimum
  • Desired QTLS/QTS status
