About the company:
My client is a social enterprise trading for change. The organisation’s focus is on health and well being. They operate a healthy living centre, community garden, several childcare nurseries, forest schools, a cafe and a community gym.

About the role:
To be the welcoming face of Social adVentures by manning the reception desk and being the first point of contact for all enquiries. Based at a healthy living centre based in Salford, the centre offers a variety of different courses, classes and 121 support for the local community. Additionally, there is a Café, a nursery and other businesses based within the centre.
As the front of house person, you will be expected to make everyone feel welcome and to assist them in gaining the support they need when using the centre. Additionally, you will be fielding phone calls and will learn about our social media channels and how to deal with enquiries that come through these channels. You will also be expected to assist with admin including updating calendars and timetables and, inputting data onto our online system.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the reception desk welcoming the community into the centre and directing them to services and appointments.
  • Handle telephone enquiries, answering basic questions, taking messages and referring to the correct people.
  • Manage, sort and distribute incoming post.
  • Maintain a good awareness of the activities and events that are happening within the centre and across the company so that you can educate the general public about these.
  • Actively engage with people coming into the Centre, promoting a helpful and positive attitude.
  • To be a knowledge hub of resources available in the centre.
  • Sign people up as members
  • Manage the room booking calendars and ensure rooms are set up ready for different sessions.
  • To learn about our different social media channels and answer basic enquiries that come in through these.
  • To update social media about activities and events as requested.
  • Undertake administration including updating timetables and databases.
