Job title: Accounts Assistant – Payroll and Personal Tax – Apprenticeship
Location: City of London
Wage: £11,000 – £12,000 per annum
Start date: ASAP
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm
Time spent in training: You are required to spend a minimum of 7 hours per week in training that supports your apprenticeship course
Course entry requirements: GCSEs at grade C/level 4 or above in English and Maths

About the role:

My Client is an accountancy practice built on the varied experience of a talented team, driven by a collective desire to see their clients harvest the fruits of their hard work and determination. Their clients value the quality of service they provide, the respect they show them in everything we do. My Client is looking for an apprentice covering payroll and personal/sole trader accounts with some office admin whilst working for the Personal Tax Manager. This is a great opportunity for an individual that is looking for a career in a growing company dealing with all finance aspects for a varied client base.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Personal Tax Manager
  • Collating and filing of Personal Tax, Sole Trader and Partnership accounts and administering clients’ payrolls.
  • Bookkeeping, VAT, Corporation Tax and Companies House Annual Returns.
  • General admin and filing duties.
  • Competence in Excel and Word are essential.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Working knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures
  • Competent in a range of IT systems and software
  • Ability to work with others to achieve objectives and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
  • Accuracy and ability to prioritise and organise own workload
