About the company:

Formed in 1985, my client has earned a reputation for setting the standards in quality, service and reliability while supplying a wide range of industries. Originally trading in the Strangeways area of Manchester, the unit was outgrown within 5 years and the company moved to larger premises in Newton Heath. In 2001 they acquired the business of F Ashton (ES) Ltd – an established Engineers merchant who had traded from 1922 – and combined both operations in the new premises back in our Strangeways home. Their continued growth as a company has seen them outgrow the premises yet again, as they moved to their current home at Chaddock Lane in Astley, from which my client continues its high standards of customer service and excellence to this day.

About the role:

As part of an exciting new role we are after an enthusiastic individual with a passion to develop and learn. My client is an established engineering merchant with over 30 years experience in the industry. You will be working closely with the marketing manager, commercial manager & sales staff and become an invaluable member of the team.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Contacting current spending customers to confirm they are happy with the services VIP are providing and to see if we can do any more business
  • Mailing of intro emails and brochure packs when required – following up and adding information to CRM.
  • Mailing of marketing material to customers with potential growth
  • Sourcing new customers – follow up and measure responses
  • Updating Opera database with up-to-date information gained during calls
  • Addition of new contacts, phone numbers, and email addresses etc.
  • Adding projects sourced with information gained including PM/CM/Eng etc, next chase or next decision date.
  • Adding details on customers/contacts such as competition (where they currently buy from,) hobbies etc.
  • Chase telesales within set period (48 Hours) for any enquiries picked up
  • Recording lost quotes & reasons for loss
  • Produce information gained from chasing quotes and act upon any information which will help with the sales.
  • Find and chase outstanding or new projects on the system and update accordingly
  • Information on expected dates for updates/ developments on CRM
  • Add information into CRM system and manage the follow up process
  • If customers they are dealing with require more specialist assistance, make appointments and confirm with the sales reps.
