Job title: Apprentice Receptionist
Location: Aston, B6
Wage: £4.50 per hour (£168.75 per week)
Start date: June
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week from 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch break
Time spent in training: You are required to spend a minimum of 7.5 hours per week in training that supports your apprenticeship course.

My client is a social enterprise that specialises in working with young people, communities and managing facilities used by local businesses, entrepreneurs and communities.

They are a Birmingham-based organisation with a global outlook and outreach and they are specialists in developing and managing entrepreneurship, music, arts, performance and heritage projects.

Job duties and responsibilities:
We want our clients and guests to feel welcome and well looked after. It is essential for our Receptionist to understand the importance of customer service and be able to diligently find out information for clients and guests in a timely manner.

Our work is diverse and involves liaising with clients and stakeholders, managing the hire of different spaces within our facility, workstream and data management. Duties will include, but are not limited to:-

  • Communicate with the project management team, facilities team, engineers, security, and maintenance departments to ensure prompt responses to guests’ needs
  • Make reservations or appointments for clients and guests
  • Record name, address and personal details of visitors to the facility and diligently record numbers attending events and projects
  • Communicate with clients, guests and stakeholders via email
  • Direct guests and clients to the right areas within the facility and to the right members of staff depending on their requirements.
  • Answer guest calls and visits to the facility and record details of each conversation for future follow-up
  • Report any accidents or injuries to senior management staff immediately

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
  • Experience in the facilities, retail or any other customer service role is preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required
  • Excellent communication, accounting and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
